Halloween 1976, five members of a carnival troupe are held hostage in Murderworld and forced to play the game of 31, a game of death in a labyrinth of rooms. This concrete underworld is populated by killers dressed as clowns, a Nazi dwarf, and a couple of murderous hillbillies among others. 31 is horror maestro Rob Zombie’s ode to 70s and 80s horror cinema and a visceral assault to the senses. Rob Zombie has an impressive body of work as a horror film maker that includes HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, THE LORDS OF SALEM and the fake trailer for WEREWOLF WOMEN OF THE SS that was included in Tarantino and Rodriguez’s GRINDHOUSE. 31 is guaranteed to please fans of Zombie and gore-fest fans in general. The film starring Malcolm McDowell (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE) as Father Murder and Sheri Moon Zombie as Charly, is a hell for leather, sadistic, Grand Guignol splatter experience. The pain and death is relentless. Happy Halloween.
