Renowned avant-garde New York artist and musician, Laurie Anderson, has created a visionary and dreamlike personal essay in film – a meditation on life, death, love and the afterlife featuring her rat terrier Lolabelle. The film is a life-affirming kaleidoscope of images and ideas, memories and dreams. It features Anderson’s wry narration and is supported by her own haunting music. Anderson states that in making the film she was guided by the spirit of David Foster Wallace whose ‘Every love story is a ghost story’ served as her mantra. Heart of a Dog is unlike any film you’ve seen.
